One of the best things about reading blogs is the emotional connection you can make with someone you have had no physical interaction with whatsoever. A perfect point in case is what happened to Magazine Man–God forbid I ever know what it’s like to be in his shoes right now. But he blogged honestly to his readers and his readers responded in kind. It’s got to be nice to know you have a semi-transparent support system out there, even if all they offer is emotional support. At times like this for what he’s going through, often that’s just exactly what’s needed.

- Hat tip to Nickerson for the link to Magazine Man. By the way, Shane–what the farging hell have you done to your blog design? I’ve heard of minimalism before but you’re making Craigslist look good with that, man.
