I’m a romantic. I’ll admit it. I used to be a firebrand, sharpening my polemic on the rock of Gibralter and trying to take on everyone with an embedded belief because they are worse than crack and hurt more people than Britney behind the wheel in a Wal-Mark parking lot or OJ set loose in the NFL Hall of Fame Museum after closing time.

So when I read things like how the Executive Officers of the US just tried to insert absolute immunity for themselves if and when they are ever prosecuted for war crimes; I just smile and think about Berlin, 1945 when Hitler cracked a cyonide tab and sucked on a pistol.

When I saw the video of the Andrew Meyers being tasered because he asked a question to a former Presidential candidate about his questionable connection with an underground society suspected of political misdealings; I giggled and thought about France in 1794 when that fucker Robespierre was dragged from his bedchamber and was awarded a complimentary separation of head from torso for his treachery.

A table can’t stand without four legs and every action a government takes with the impetus of protecting the strong at the expense of the weak, acting merciless towards those whose only hope is a bit of mercy in life, or who dismantles individual liberty for the comfortable sake of collective tyranny, the table leg moves a bit further out from underneath the mantle of power.

Eventually, the table will fall. History has proved it again and again.

Trust in history. Smile at tyranny.
