…but then again, I don’t trust any politician. Antimedia makes a good point today about Barack’s plan on cutting defense spending. There’s a difference between thinking that it’s the right thing to get out of the war in Iraq as soon as possible and losing your fugging mind altogether and start talking about cutting spending on defense to fund social programs at home.

That’s just getting stuck on stupid.

All along, I’ve been a huge proponent of national defense (which to me doesn’t mean international offense). We should have a strong national guard (actually present in the nation–I know that’s a radical idea but indulge me here). We should have a well-trained citizen militia with fully functional underground community defense shelters and community education on what to do in case of a nuclear or biological attack (seriously this time-no duct tape bullshit).

Voting for President anymore is really just picking the best turd left floating in the bowl by the end of the great shit that has become the primaries.  True to my word, I voted for Ron Paul in the Republican Primary (I switched from Independent to Republican specifically to vote for Ron Paul). I’ve cast my vote for the candidate I believe in, instead of  against the one I don’t want to win. I can sleep at night.

Can you?
