PS3 Controller
For those who don’t know, a fan boy is “an individual who is devoted to a single subject in a fanatical manner.” In all truth, I haven’t been the owner of a single gaming system since last Spring when I bought a Wii. But now I’m a true gamer, meaning I’ve purchased a PS3, a Wii and a 360. They’re all fantastic systems in their own right.

To be honest though, I picked up the PS3 because of the Blue-Ray player. I am interested in Metal Gear 4 though and any other platform specific titles for the PS3 but they seem to be few and far between.

The PS3 is a very nice piece of hardware. It looks amazing physically. The software is fairly intuitive; it took me only about ten minutes to navigate through the menu.

But the PS3’s navigational menu doesn’t come close to the 360 dashboard either in appearance or functionality. And the friends list seems a bit generic compared to the robustness of the 360’s community. But the 360 costs me $50 a year for that look and functionality.

I like the six axis controller, though I haven’t gotten the chance to really use it yet. The Wii controller is the total shit so the six axis is a nice medium. The Playstation controller is still as awesome as it was for the PS2. And you’ve got to hand it to all three of the major hardware producers, each of them have fantastic controllers that are all unique and feel great in their own right.

So a fanboy I am no longer. Of course, since I don’t get paid to write video game reviews, I can’t write the purchases off on my taxes. But hey, some dudes have a separate bank account for the money they spend on strip clubs. Some guys spend a fortune on alcohol and cigarettes. I play video games and a each one can give me a month or two.

Don’t hate me because my video game systems are beautiful.
