Sorry Zo, but that's how I feel. The good thing about a blog is that it's a place where you can let loose when you want to "whether it works or not." Will those words come back to haunt me someday? Maybe. But they reflected how I felt when I wrote it. They weren't meant to be mysogonistic but I've learned that some women take almost any comment a man says that way (not to impugn you, of course) so you have to do the best you can and take a step back to measure up every now and then.

Hopefully, you'll change your mind about continuing to come back--things are just getting started around here. But if all it took was one sentence to make you want to leave, I guess that's a mantle I'll claim also.

Thanks for the well wishes.

"But the folks on the other side of the aisle are a bunch of ball-less, soul-less, Bill Murray-in-Caddyshack-slurred-mouthed, douche bag idiots who couldn’t relieve a hard on with girl on girl porn and an ocean of astroglide" just blew the whole piece of writing. Blew it apart, so much so I was sorry I'd started to read in the first place. Probably a weak moment, going for the gonzo - and failing, terribly. Not to mention incredibly off-putting to a woman. By several measures, you failed writing. Writing didn't fail you. Integrity is difficult to maintain, sentence-to-sentence, but one really has no cnoice.

Good luck!

I agree with you Infadel on the point you stated about "there have been countless cases....".

What it comes down to for me is the gov't should represent me and do what is in my best interest... or more specifically, work for the majority of Americans. That is not happening, nor will it as long as the two party system is the only option most people see. Even worse IMO is that even when people do see another option, they dismiss it because the odds are insurmountable. Well, they are if people vote for a piece of garbage or a whole pile of garbage.

I also have to agree with JD. Both major parties are still clinging onto the same "ideals" they have been for a century +. Too bad they are outdated advertising campaigns that don't accurately portray what either party is about anymore.

Infidel, I just don't see it as an apology, but more of a mission statement. I'm saying I'm done. I'm jumping off the Republican ship before it's totally sunk. I gave them almost seven years to make an impact. They haven't. They are not the party that is going to bring an end to blood shed (meaning fighting the war with a goal in mind and the sack to do what it makes to bring that goal to fruition) and neither are the Democrats. The Republicans are not the party that is going to dismantle the Internal Revenue Service and replace the tyrannical tax structure with something sensible and neither will the Democrats.

And most importantly, neither of these corporate political entities will lift a finger to legalize and tax the social and medical use of marijuana so neither of them deserve my support any longer. I will find the candidate with the talents, skill sets and ambition to accomplish these three objectives and I will vote for them. If my candidate loses, then its the fault of those who continue to vote like they are told because they delude themselves by thinking they actually have a choice choosing the puppet on the left or right when they really need to vote against the guy holding both puppets.

The last jerk that pays me before the election wins my vote. Democrats or Republicans, they are all roughly identical. They have more in common with each other than they ever have or will have with any of us. And the big arguments we hoi polloi have over their respective merits must be a source of endless amusement to them, our ruling class.

Whew. I was about to enter into the discussion. I had to delete a bunch of crap. Sorry. I lost my head for a second.
