Thanks for the well-wishes, Jo--my uncle is a strong man but all freely offered prayers are welcome and accepted. And thank you for reading this blog--you coming back keeps me coming back. Cheers.

I don't know you, except through your blog, but I can certainly empathize.

The words liver cancer have the same effect on me, as they apply to my brother. He is 12 years older than me and was the one who pulled off my band-aids and pulled out my loose teeth when I was a little girl. He took me and a group of my girlfriends to see the Rolling Stones and ZZ Top when I was a freshman in high school. He loaned me money when I was in college and couldn't bring myself to call my parents. And he was the only one who showed up at the emergency room 6 months ago as the doctors prepared to do a lumbar puncture on me because I couldn't bend my neck.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, your uncle, and your family.

You have a great understanding. I was not lucky enough to be born into this family but inherited it throug marriage some 30 years ago. Even though the marriage passed away, my relationship with the family remains strong. I love them with all my heart and I promise you and everyone in the family, I will be there fighting with every ounce I have as long as I need to. Love ya Joshie

It's a shitty situation, man. There's a whole lot to be angry about but we need to help the man get better--that has to be our first priority.
