Big Brother is watching you

I was sorry to hear that Tony Snow died of cancer today at 53 years old.  He’s a fellow Cincinnatian and I was always a fan of his even-keeled broadcasting approach back when he was host of Fox News Sunday in the early years of the Bush ’43s office.

Tony Snow was the only broadcaster who brought tears to my eyes the weekend after 9/11.  Like you, I was angry with fire in my heart but his words and his tears on his farewell comment on FNS that day penetrated all that anger and hit a deep emotional well.

And I thank him for that because it’s the emotion in that well and not the anger fire in our hearts that will save this species from self-destruction.

I wasn’t so much a fan of his radio show or his bid as press secretary (aren’t they all full of shit while doing that job?) but he was a stand up guy and he will be missed in the exchange of ideas through American broadcasting.
